Happy Chanukah

Tis the season to be jolly . . . Yada, yada, yada. Business is booming if you are a CEO of a major bank that rips off the working person. Oh, I've got nothing against the CEOs getting a decent wage . . . Yeah, right, let's get real here. Bank of America is looking for a good man. Okay, sign me up. Let me set the record straight first. I can live on $250,000.00 a year and be comfortable. What do you need from me? What ? Long hours, you say ? 9 am to 4pm ? . . . This is unacceptable. What else ?
Let's get real here . . . Does anyone deserve to make over $1,000,000.00 in a single year for sitting behind a desk ? What can they possibly be doing that you or I can't? Don't give me that B.S, about how they climbed their way to the top.
Let's take a hypothetical situation. Put me behind the same desk for a year. One thing that will most certainly happen is a reduction in my own wages. Oh, does this strike you as out of the ordinary ? Well, let me asure you, any ethical man that sleeps ~ No ~ I mean really sleeps at night would do the same thing.
I'm one American that will never go near a Bank of America. I hope you'll do the same.

Thanksgiving recipe

I am so thankful for my Laura, Frank, David, Anna, Alyssa, Angela, my mom and dad and my brothers and my sister and the rest of my peeps. I'm also thankful for sugar and all of the food that we take for granted that wasn't on the Pilgrims first Thanksgiving table. Many of the first pilgrims died the first year. It's a good thing my ancestors came on a boat after that one. Wow . . . my ancestors got on a boat to come to a new land. How cool is that ! ?

Todays Thanksgiving has come down to Walmart's black friday deals. Like most of you, I also look for great deals on Black Friday. New products come along and special deals for not only myself, but also the ones on my gift list. Thanks for reading! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Digital Phones & Long Distance Calling

If you already have a digital phone (VOIP) and you make regular calls outside of your area code then you know the value of phones on the internet. I started using VOIP around the turn of the century. DIALPAD.COM was the main player in this new technology.

We have come a long way since the days of DILPAD.COM. Most people didn't have broadband internet connections at that time. If you didn't have headphones there was an "echo" sound that was very disturbing. New VOIP systems have regular phone connections that allow you to plug in a regular home phone. The new VOIP systems are just as if you were on a regular phone.

If you haven't tried the new VOIP phones go to comcaller.com.

Free Internet or Internet for Free

It seems like one of our elected officials that self admittedly proclaimed that he doesn't even know how to email wants to now tell us if government should regulate our internet. Large conglomerates like AT&T and COX, to name just a couple, stand to make mega bucks if allowed to pick and choose the web access that you and I have to websites. The idea is to make certain sites available to paying customers. By doing this, it makes certain information available to paying customers ONLY.

Much like cable T.V. the major players stand to make a lot of money and that results in our loss of freedom to choose programming for its quality. The internet access could become controlled by money thus people that can't afford pricey service will undoubtedly settle for the "economy package" and we all know it will be less information than the high priced services.

Another issue on the table is whether or not the government should put free Wi-Fi internet throughout the entire United States. This could be another way of controlling who gets to see what. It sounds really good at first because it brings back the days of T.V. air telecasting. If you were close enough to a transmitting tower, you could watch T.V. for free.

With the internet quickly becoming an important telecommunications portal, we could stand to benefit a great deal from free Wi-Fi. We could compare it to C.B. radios on major steroids. Now that the internet handles digital phone services and their practically free long distance benefits the future looks good. Let's just keep a lid on things as far as who is trying to control things.

Make your owns website

There are a lot of people that are making their own websites these days. There are simple templates you can use. There are also drag and drop programs to help you if you are a beginner. The programs that are probably the easiest to use are called WYSIWYG pronounced "whizzy - wig". You can find more information at thesitewizard.com .

There are a number of server website companies that offer simple website building tools for free when you host your site with them. My favorite is freeservers.com . There will be a monthly fee to host your site and just about anyone can figure out how to make a website using their web builder tools.

If you need to be more professional you can hire a programmer to build your site or you can take a class at a local school. Some adult education schools offer classes and most Jr. colleges also offer classes. HTML is a language that is widely used for building websites but there are far more sophisticated languages that are also widely used today. If you don't have any programming experience you should start with an introduction class.

An example of a simple website built entirely with HTML click HERE.

VOIP

Today we're going to talk about VOIP. What is VOIP? VOIP is Voice Over Internet Protocol. It is a way of making your phone work over the internet system without you knowing the difference. Some systems work with headphones and a microphone worn on your head and the user sits at his computer and makes or receives calls. The computer must be equipped with a sound card to incorporate the headphone and mic. The first systems like "dialpad.com" used this method.

The latest VOIP systems use a very small box that plugs into a USB port and your phone plugs into the box at your computer. Wireless phones allow you to then add a number of extensions and freedom to walk about. These systems are now becoming very popular because they offer long distance and International calls at a very low monthly rate.

The future will undoubtedly offer the use of cell phones with only the internet connected to the phone. Since cell phones now offer internet on the newest phones, it only takes a small step to incorporate the VOIP technology into the phones and thus eliminating the need for a carrier.

You can see an award winning VOIP system with International calling included by clicking HERE.

New website for email faxes and unlimited international phone service and more.

After the dot com burst a few years ago a lot of people were asking what would become of the monster we call the internet. As we now know, the big players like http://amazon.com/ and http://ebay.com/ will probably be with us for a long time, but the internet has the potential to become a huge telecommunications tool for businesses and the general public.

A new website is ready to start offering some of the best communication tools available to everyone with a computer. There is a phone service with a low monthly rate for Unlimited International calls. There's an office productivity package that includes your own 800 number and the ability to send faxes from your email. It's like a one stop communications store.

As webmaster I am going to keep this blog going for questions and answers regarding computer use, computer repair, and topics related to internet telecommunications. You may keep it in your bookmarks as a place to come for serious and / or informal questions.

The website will also be adding some more of the best home and office internet telecommunication tools on December 1st, 2009. Mark this date on your calendar and be sure to attend this openning at comcaller.com. Some products will be on a limited basis only and we expect to sell out of some of the best offers.
